How much does the Tour du Mont Blanc cost in 2027?
The short answer: save €1,250 per person for eleven walking days and ten nights in refuges with half board. The priced lines add up to €728.70–995; the €1,250 is the top of that plus a quarter, because some real costs have no published price. Not included: the nights before and after the walk, lunches, the lifts, insurance and getting to Geneva.
The costs, line by line, per person
| Line | Price | Times | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Refuge dormitory, half board | €55–75 a night | 10 nights | €550–750 |
| Shower, where it is not included | €3–5 a night | 10 nights | €30–50 |
| Sleeping-bag liner hire | €4 a night | 10 nights | €40 |
| Geneva airport and back, shared shuttle | €90–100 | there and back | €90–100 |
| Chamonix valley bus | €1.70–5 a day | 11 days | €18.70–55 |
| Total | €728.70–995 |
Each line from Treksup’s TMB budget, with its source below. The refuge price is an estimate from published tariffs; what binds is the price at booking. That is €66–91 a day over eleven days. Tour du Mont Blanc Hike, refuges guide (read 17 September 2026) Refuge du Lac Blanc
Why save €1,250, not €995
A budget built only from prices someone published is low by construction: it leaves out what nobody publishes, like lunch and the lifts. So Treksup takes the top of the range, adds a quarter and rounds up to the next €50. The quarter is a margin, not a price. A margin you do not spend is a cheaper mistake than a trek you cannot finish.
What half board buys, and what a room costs
Half board is dinner, a bed and breakfast, and on most of the route it is the only formula worth having: the refuges are hours from a shop. Rifugio Bonatti lists €74 for a dormitory bed with half board, plus €1 tourist tax.
Prices are per person, so walking alone costs the same per night as walking in a group. If you want a room rather than a dormitory, €94 per person was quoted for 2026 for a two-to-four-bed room. That is instead of the dormitory line, not on top of it. A room to yourself is not something the sources price: ask the refuge.

Deposits: money that leaves in January
Each refuge takes a deposit of €30 to €50 per person when you book, deducted from the bill on the night. It is not an extra cost, but ten refuges booked in winter is several hundred euros gone months before you walk. On the refuge platform, cancelling more than 30 days ahead returns 80% of the deposit; after that, nothing.

Getting there and around
A shared shuttle seat from Geneva airport to the valley costs €45 with Mountain Drop-offs, each way, so €90 there and back. Book it before you fly: summer seats fill.
Line 1 of the Chamonix valley bus costs €1.70 in the app, €2.20 by card on the bus and €2.70 in cash, and a day ticket is €5. The guest card your accommodation gives you is not a bus ticket, only a discount on passes of two days or more. The bus is also how you get back from a stage you abandon.

Not in the total
- The lifts. Bellevue, La Flégère and Planpraz all charge; none published a 2026 single fare where Treksup could read it.
- Lunch. Most stages have a buvette or a refuge kitchen, but no published price.
- The nights before and after, in Chamonix or Les Houches.
- Italy and Switzerland cost more than France on the same trek, and one range does not separate them.
- Insurance and the journey to Geneva, which depend on where you live.
The first three items and the note on Italy and Switzerland are the gaps listed in Treksup’s TMB budget.
Where you can save
Bring your own sleeping-bag liner: it weighs about 220 g and saves the €40 of hire. Showers are optional where they are not included. The refuge nights are not where to save: on most of the route there is no cheaper bed within walking distance.
The budget in the app
Treksup’s budget screen shows these lines with the sum written out and the amount to save, for every route it has priced. The Tour du Mont Blanc is a paid route in the app; seven routes are open in full, free on iPhone.
